Abstract submissions are now open!
The USDA Forest Service, Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Program and the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) are pleased to announce that the 2022 FIA Science Stakeholder Meeting (FIA 2022) will be held November 15th-17th, 2022 in Minneapolis/St. Paul (location tentative).
As we prepare the 2022 agenda, please consider organizing a session, offering an oral presentation or poster, or demonstrating your applications and tools. At least a portion of the meeting will be offered virtually, and the final decision about in-person attendance is still under consideration.
Types of abstracts we are seeking:
- Organized session
- Special issue abstracts
- Oral presentation
- Digital engagement demonstration (applications, tools, databases, websites, e-posters/posters)
Deadlines:
- Special issue abstract - April 30, 2022 (additionally, please submit your abstract as an oral presentation)
- Proposal for organized session - May 6, 2022
- Oral presentation and digital engagement demonstration abstract - June 10, 2022

Submission Instructions:
Organized Sessions - Please use the organized session submission form to submit your proposal for an organized session. Sessions will be limited to a maximum of 6 speakers; a minimum of 4 speakers is required. Session organizers will be asked to submit lead author names and presentation titles with submissions. Note that those presenting in an organized session will need to submit their abstracts separately using the presentation abstract submission form. In the presentation abstract submission form, select 'YES' when asked if you are part of an organized session and you will be prompted to include the title of the organized session and session organizer's name. Notifications about organized session acceptance will be sent by July 8th, 2022.
Presentation and Demonstration Abstracts - Please use the presentation abstract submission form to submit your abstract for an oral presentation, poster, or demonstration. First authors are limited to 2 abstract submissions of any kind. Notifications regarding abstract acceptance will be sent by July 8th.
Publication of Proceedings: Submitted abstracts will be digitally distributed at the meeting. Meeting presenters are encouraged to further document their contributions by submitting an article to a special issue in Frontiers in Forests and Global Change or an extended abstract for inclusion in a General Technical Report to be published shortly after the conclusion of the meeting.
