User Alert:

*** Notice ***    The CIO performs regular maintenance updates on our servers on Friday nights between 9 and 11 pm EST. Online tools may be briefly unavailable during the maintenance window. Thank you for your understanding.

Nov 4, 2021: Warning! ATIM reports using either County, Unit, or NFS Administrative Forest Code ALP as the column format selection will result in inaccurate results in both the Excel and XML output. This issue is not present with HTML output..

Oct 21, 2021: Warning! FIA’s Alaska inventory is not spatially complete and FIA inventory unit boundaries do not follow Alaska’s borough and census area boundaries or ecoregions. Therefore, estimates and statistics based on these spatial features may be misleading. For more information, please refer to the supporting documentation here.

Sep 27, 2021: There is a known issue with EVALIDator and the EVALIDator API regarding temporal selections in change reports. If users select Inventory Year for the page, row or column, only the Current temporal option is recognized and used for reports even if a different temporal selection is made.

Jun 14, 2021: EVALIDator continues to experience stability issues. The CIO has determined that the server on which EVALIDator is currently running is unstable, causing intermittent unavailability. If you are unable to access EVALIDator, please use DATIM. DATIM provides the same capabilities as EVALIDator, as well as additional features that users will likely find useful.

Aug 6, 2020: We are in the process of updating periodic remeasurement datasets for some states. You can find the list of affected states and their associated evaluation groups along with supporting documentation here.

Data and Tools

DATIM

DATIM

The Design and Analysis Toolkit for Inventory and Monitoring (DATIM) provides four modules: an analysis tool for inventory and monitoring (ATIM) used for creating tables; a spatial intersection tool (SIT); a design tool for inventory and monitoring plans (DTIM); and a data compilation system (DCS) to add FVS attributes to DATIM datasets.

My City's Trees

My City's Trees

The My City's Trees application enables anyone to access Urban FIA data and produce custom analyses and reports. Currently, My City's Trees includes information for all targeted cities with a complete certified dataset. At full implementation, the application will serve an estimated 100 cities with new cities coming on line as new data sets are completed and certified. Urban FIA is a continuous inventory with data sets being updated as remeasurement data becomes available.    New - Chicago added in October 2021!

FIA Geospatial Showcase

FIA Geospatial Showcase

The FIA program actively shares data and tools, but forest inventory data is difficult to use and complex in its interpretation. Therefore, we also need to share our capacity to analyze and understand forest resources. To that end, the FIA Geospatial Showcase makes it easier for people to use the data - at both smaller and larger scales - by integrating FIA's measurements with remotely sensed observations (e.g., satellite data).
